  • The lawyer from Tolima, is graduated from the Universidad libre. He is a Specialist in Criminal Sciences and Criminology, and Public Law. He has more than 30 years of experience in the public and private sector.

Before the President of the Republic of Colombia, Iván Duque, took posession as director of the National Protection Unit, UNP, the lawyer Pablo Elías González Monguí. For the National Government it is a priority to provide security to all its citizens, "the UNP is in a situation, demand management and knowledge. That leads it to transcend beyond the protection of dignitaries, but that there be a policy of collective protection, and there is real protection for social leaders "said the Head of State.

Pablo Elías González Monguí, was born in Chaparral, Tolima, is a graduate of the Universidad libre, he is Specialist in Criminal Sciences and Criminology, and Public Law. He has a PhD in Law from the Externado de Colombia University.

He served as Attorney General of the Nation in charge and Deputy Attorney General of the Nation in the year 2001. That same year he held the post of Delegate Prosecutor before the Supreme Court of Justice.

During his extensive professional career he has served as Chief of the Office of Special Investigations of the Attorney General's Office (1989-1991), National Director of the Technical Investigation Corps of the Attorney General's Office (1997-2000) and National Director of Prosecutor's Offices (1999).

He has been an international consultant for the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Panama (2002), World Bank as a case study instructor "Judicial Reform of Latin America and the Caribbean" (2004), Ombudsman's Office (2005-2009), European Union and USAID Program.

He was also a litigator,advisory and consultant for 30 years in the areas of Criminal Law and Public Law.

He is also the author and co-author of 12 books related to Criminal Law, Judicial Police, Crime Scene Management, International Humanitarian Law, Defense Investigator Manual, Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, Philosophy of Law, Conflict and Humanitarian Agreement.
