The Ministry of the Interior and the National Fire Department of Colombia praised today, with the "Cruz de San Miguel" medal to Timothy Callaghan, Regional Director of the Office of Assistance for Disasters Abroad USAID / OFDA, in charge of mitigating vulnerability before natural disasters.
Callagham has excelled in the exercise of his tasks, facilitating his administrative and field experience to support the strengthening processes that the National Fire Department gives to the Firefighters of Colombia in the training area.
The Vice Minister of Political Relations, Hector Olimpo Espinosa, was in charge of the award, which recognized in the leadership of Callagham “a very high level of altruism and philanthropy that is serving and assisting others, a task that plays a fundamental role. For the firemen of Colombia, who are part of that security and protection that the State lends to society”
The National Fire Department of Colombia established and regulated the "CRUZ DE SAN MIGUEL" medal as the highest distinction awarded by the National Director of Firefighters of Colombia, to highlight and distinguish the exceptional virtues, the consecration to work, the indisputable acts courage and heroism, antiquity, perseverance and services beyond duty, which lend natural or legal person to the Firemen of Colombia.
