The Minister of the Interior, Nancy Patricia Gutiérrez, and the Minister of Justice, Gloria María Barrero, installed the first technical panel that seeks to draft a reform package to fight against corruption.
The panel decided to create a subcommission that will be in charge of seeking a unified proposal for electoral reform.
The head of the political portfolio insisted that next September 17 must be ready projects to be filed in the Congress of the Republic.
The fight against corruption is a priority of the legislative and political agenda of President Iván Duque.
Representatives of all parties and political movements, as well as the promoters of the Anticorruption Consultation, participated in the development of the technical panel, as well as the Deputy Prosecutor, María Paulina Riveros and the Deputy Attorney General of the Nation, Juan Carlos Cortés.
The political reform, mechanisms of transparency in public procurement and reduction or freezing of the salaries of the congressmen were central points of the technical panel at its first meeting.
