- In the march against terrorism, the Ministry of the Interior condemned the attack on the January 17th that killed 20 cadets from the General Santander Police School. “Here we are. They are not alone,” said the Chief of the Police Department to all Colombians.
“This is a march that completely rejects terrorism. Colombia does not want to go back to the period witnessed 25 years ago. Together the country has come together and rejects terrorism without political leanings,” affirmed the Minister of the Interior, Nancy Patricia Gutiérrez, during the march that traveled from Parque Nacional to the Plaza de Bolivar.
“The youth that died in this act of terrorism have awoken the deepest feelings for Colombians, for the women that are mothers, for the men that are fathers, but also for the youth that show solidarity with their generation. No more! This generation does not deserve to live what has already been lived 25 years ago,” she added.
Concerning the National Liberation Army (ELN), the author of the terrorist attack, she affirmed: “The National Liberation Army (ELN) struck Colombia in the heart and does not have a different alternative to cease fire and demonstrate real voluntary peace”.
