The Minister of the Interior, Alicia Arango Olmos participated in the virtual Dialogue with the Association of Mayors of Municipalities with Afro-Colombian Population led by President Iván Duque Márquez, where the actions launched by the National Government to address the pandemic by COVID19 and the economic reactivation plans.
In her speech, the head of the political portfolio reiterated to the mayors that the objective of this government is to focus programs and projects according to the needs of the communities and that "these 115 municipalities can feel the results in the territory."
"We must attend to the needs of the communities and that is the instruction we have received from President Iván Duque at all times. We are going to work with the entire government team and the Association of Mayors of Municipalities with Afro-Colombian Population, an action plan with a schedule, an action plan with results,” said Arango Olmos.
The minister highlighted the work of government entities and reiterated that "from the Ministry of the Interior we are here to support them, to help with actions. The commitment we have is to continue with the plans of the black, Afro-Colombian, Raizal and Palenquera populations, and that we have every interest in following up with our cabinet colleagues and developing and solving problems that arise along the way.
