A balance of tranquility and normality in the mobilizations were delivered by the Minister of the Interior, Nancy Patricia Gutiérrez, and the director of the Police, General Óscar Atehortúa. "So far everything has been under the control of the National Police, again we insist on the important articulation that governors and mayors have had throughout the Colombian territory," said the Minister, after delivering the second report from the Unified Command Post , PMU, of the National Police.
“We insist that we are still developing protests. It is very important that citizens have the peace of mind that the authorities are able to guarantee the safety of those who are going to march and protest, but also to guarantee the rights of people outside the protests”, she reiterated.
In this Unified Command Post, “you work in real time, in a permanent connection with the territorial authorities. We have direct contact with the 51 units of the National Police throughout the country, the police departments and metropolitan police. In the same way, the 23 operational units of the Military Forces, the governorates, the mayors and the Defense Minister, Carlos Holmes Trujillo, the Minister of Education, María Victoria Angulo, and the Minister of Work, Alicia Arango, are present territorially among others”, concluded the Minister.
