The Vice Minister of the Interior for Participation and Equal Rights, Carlos Alberto Baena participated in the Unified Command Post in Quibdó, Chocó, which the Ministry of Health led to evaluate the situation of the department due to the pandemic by COVID-19.
The health, safety and humanitarian aid delivery situation was discussed at the meeting. Deputy Minister Baena announced that "with the leadership of Minister Alicia Arango Olmos, a request will be processed in the Ministry of Finance to send money orders to the Government and deliver 40,000 humanitarian aid grants.”
On the day, the vice minister held a meeting with community leaders, to listen to their requests and socialize the actions of the Ministry of the Interior for Chocó:
- Promote social dialogue focused on results
- Projects in ancestral medicine of ethnic communities.
- Strengthen the work of the community to make prevention pedagogy of COVID-19 in the territory.
- Work on food aid and food sovereignty.
