The call for the election of the representative of "other churches and religious denominations" is open to the National Council of Reconciliation and Coexistence, as established in Decree Law 885 of 2017.
According to article 3 of Decree 352 of 1998, applicants must meet the following conditions:
a. To accredit its existence by registering its legal status in accordance with current legal norms, or exceptionally, by means of supplemental evidence accepted by the Impulse Group or the National Peace Council, as the case may be;
b. To have developed own and representative activities of the respective sector;
c. Have national coverage or representation within the framework of article 4 of Law 434 of 1998.
In addition, the requirements of the initial invitation:
- Be an accredited representative of the legal entity and/or written delegation in case your entity is part of councils, committees and networks and has been nominated by its members.
- To accredit a minimum experience of five years in the promotion of peace, coexistence and reconciliation and/or defence of fundamental rights.
- Submit a statement of motives maximum of two pages, which proves to have knowledge of the instances in which the religious sector participates in the Final Agreement for ending the conflict and the construction of a stable and lasting peace.
