For two days, the National Government and the Regional Indigenous Council of Cauca, CRIC, held the eighth session of the Mixed Commission, a space for intercultural dialogue that served to advance issues such as housing, education, health, self-government, roads, productive and communication projects, human rights, among others. The Regional Indigenous Council of Huila CRIHU and the Regional Indigenous Council of Caldas CRIDEC participated in this session.
In the installation, the Minister of the Interior, Alicia Arango Olmos, reiterated the commitment and political will of the Government of President Iván Duque, to comply with the agreements of the Minga del Suroccidente del Cauca and its action plans, under which different strategic activities to solve the needs of the communities.
Some conclusions of the meeting are: investment of resources in communication projects and community radio stations, in the care and reparation of victims as a collective subject, strengthening of self-government structures and appropriation of budget for structuring and executing productive projects for the benefit of our communities.
The Vice Minister for Participation and Equal Rights of the Ministry of the Interior, Carlos Baena, highlighted the participation of each of the delegates and representatives of the Cauca Regional Indigenous Council CRIC, CRIHU and CRIDEC as well as the advisers of the Regional Indigenous Organization of the Valle del Cauca ORIVAC, Association of Community Councils of the North of Cauca ACONC, Committee for the Integration of the Colombian Massif CIMA, in the two working sessions in the city of Popayán.

I also thank the Procurator's Office, the Ombudsman's Office, the Prosecutor's Office and the entire government team for their participation at the head of the Minister, Alicia Arango Olmos, to carry out a proposed agenda that will serve the country and the department of Cauca, "stressed Vice Minister Baena , by adjourning the session of the Eighth Mixed Commission.
They were part of the high-level delegation that accompanied the Minister of the Interior, the Minister of Education, María Victoria Angulo; the Minister of Agriculture, Rodolfo Zea; the Director of National Planning, Luis Alberto Rodríguez; the Vice Minister of Health, María Andrea Godoy, the Vice Minister of Housing, the Director of DANE, Juan Daniel Oviedo; Director of the Disaster Risk Management Unit, Eduardo José González; Director of the UNP, Alfonso Campo, delegates from the National Land Agency, among other senior advisers to the High Government. The Vice Ministers of Mines and Energy, of ICT, Culture, Justice, Sports and the High Presidential Councilor for Youth also participated virtually.
On August 18 and 19, an extraordinary session of the Mixed Commission - Decree 1811 of 2017 will be held, with the purpose of concluding the budget for the 2021 period, in compliance with the investment plan agreed in the Minga; A work agenda will also be developed with the other Organizations that participated in this important space, which will guarantee the effective enjoyment of their rights.
