The Community Action Bank is a program of the Ministry of the Interior to financially support productive and social initiatives with the purpose of strengthening the Community Action Organizations of the country.

“During 2019 and 2020, through the Community Actions Bank, we have allocated 48 billion pesos to 1,113 initiatives presented by community leaders in the 32 departments. With this, we contribute to the economic reactivation of the country and we comply with Conpes 3955 of 2018”, assured the interior minister, Alicia Arango Olmos.

In 2020, 2,311 initiatives were submitted, of which 524 were selected in 21 departments, after meeting the feasibility requirements. Each selected initiative received a co-financing of between 5 and 30 million pesos per community organization. Regarding the lines of action of the projects, 63% are actions to beautify and recover communal environments, 29% focused on the orange economy, 7% on environmental issues and 1% on the social fabric.

“123 municipalities of the country and a population of approximately 220,000 people will be able to count on different spaces such as sports centers, recreational parks for children, biosaludable parks for the elderly, rural roads with better mobility conditions, productive projects for the generation of income, training in issues of prevention and health promotion and community rooms in better conditions, "said the head of the political portfolio.

The closure of the Bank of Communal Actions took place in Chipaque, Cundinamarca, with the presence of the Ministry of the Interior, mayors and community leaders from other municipalities such as Guayabetal, Quetame and Fosca.
