The Sub-Directorate for Citizen Security and Coexistence led the “First Workshop on Strengthening Territorial Entities in Prevention of Violence against Raizal Women”, in San Andrés Islands, in which more than 150 Afro-Colombian and Raizal women participated, and 12 territorial entities. The Ministry of Interior trained attendees in regulatory framework, assistance routes, service lines, national and territorial order entities, where they can denounce and meet the proposed goals to counter violence against women. The coordinator of the Citizen Security and Coexistence group, Doris Aristizábal, reiterated the Ministry's commitment to provide technical assistance and permanent support to the territorial entities for the implementation of the Government's Gender Equity and Gender Policy. "We come here to strengthen these capacities so that this public policy can be implemented in the Territorial Development Plans and ensure the full enjoyment of women's rights in equality and non-discrimination", she said. This space was attended by the Government of San Andrés, National Police, ICBF, Office of the Attorney General, among others, who made known the actions undertaken to raise awareness, care and protection of victims.
