The Ministry of Interior, Fernando Carrillo Flórez, settled today the Departmental Assembly for Black, African Colombian, Raizales and Palenqueras communities from Chocó, in which he shared the Resolution number 733 of July of 2013 which establishes the guidelines that need to be followed in order to elect the representatives of this population before the High Level Consultative Commission.
The convenient action of the Colombian state institutions, in a conjoint work with the authorities from other countries, has allowed the repatriation in the last months of 20 nationals, 15 women and 5 men, victims of the human traffic crime. This is one of the most tangible results from the prevention campaign “With people dealing, there is no deal”, led by the Ministry of Interior, important national entities and international organizations as well.
The National Unity Table restated their unconditional support to President Santos’ policy of not allowing blockings nor violence actions during the manifestations which are taking place in some sectors of the country.
The Minister of Interior, in representation of the National Government, restated that through dialogue and agreement it could be possible to achieve the necessary social improvements for the indigenous communities in the country
The Minister of Interior, Fernando Carrillo Flórez, urged to the opposition and coalition political parties which comprises the Senate of the Republic to condemn and reject the violence that has permeated the social protest in Catatumbo and other places in the country.
Keeping with the policy to reinforce security in all of the municipalities of the country, the Minister of interior, Fernando Carrillo Flórez, subscribed today 24 agreements with territorial entities for over $12.870 million, of which the Interior portfolio provides 10.667 million pesos and the governor’s offices and cities provide the 2.203 million left.
The national Government rejects emphatically the Farc’s announcement of offering their arms and combatants to accompany the peasants of the Catatumbo, who are carrying a protest since five weeks ago, exposing the civilian population in a permanent way to risks situations.
The Government has pronounced itself many times about the actions of this illegal armed organization headed to infiltrate the social movement in the Catatumbo. Infiltration which had become in a huge obstacle to reach agreements which let to overcome the strike and to put an end to the illegal actions which have caused many problems to the inhabitants of the region and great economics losses as well.
Is important for the guerrilla to have clear that meanwhile the peace isn’t signed, they are an illegal organization, investigated by the justice and with no possibility of participating in politics through their perverse practice of mixing guns and politics. The Farc instead of providing scenarios in which more victims are generated within the civilian population, they should prepare to face the victims as is intended by the General Agreement for the Termination of the Conflict.
The term which begins this 20th of July will be marked by the execution. This was affirmed by the Minister of Interior, Fernando Carrillo Flórez, who said that the efforts of the National Government will be focused to enforce the laws approved by the National Congress.
The Ministry of Interior, through the African Colombian, San Andres and Palenqueras Communities Affairs Directorate, keeps this weekend supporting the invitations for the Assemblies in which will be elected the delegates to the Autonomous National Congress of Community Councils and Ethnic Organizations.
